Kelso Beers with 5 Napkin Burger
There is a lot of focus these days on pairing craft beer with the fine dining experience. So, it is nice to be reminded now and again that burgers, fried chicken, and bacon should not be ignored.
Here’s a note I received from 5 Napkin burger a few days ago. Not only does the menu look delicious, but the Kelso beers are among the best available in the New York Area.
5 Napkin Burger’s 2nd Beer Dinner is coming up with Brooklyn’s Kelso on October 6, 2011. The dinner will begin with an informal reception where guests will mingle with the husband and wife brewers Kelly and Sonya and dine on signature appetizers from 5 Napkin Burger’s menu and ones that Chef Andy D’Amico will prepare with the featured beers just for the event. This evening is a unique and rare opportunity to taste beers with the head brew-masters in a tasting room setting, followed by a sit down two course dinner all expertly paired with a different Kelso beer.
Kelly and Sonya are bringing out all the stops and are pouring rare brews such as their Bourbon Barrel Aged, Brandy Barrel Aged IPA and the Flemish Red Ale. A complete list of the beers being served throughout the night are below:
5 Napkin Lager
India Pale Ale
Bourbon Barrel Aged Recessionator Doppelbock
Brandy Barrel Aged IPA
Flemish Red Ale
Cocktail Hour Appetizers:
Crispy Chicken Nuggets with 5NB Brew BBQ Sauce
Brandy Barrel Aged IPA Pulled Pork Sliders with pickled veggies, cilantro, sriracha and lime
Kellerfest and Cheddar Soup with Candied Bacon
