Visiting the Brooklyn Brewery’s Barrel Room
A few months ago I was fortunate enough to spend an afternoon with Garret Oliver of the Brooklyn Brewery
who was kind enough to highlight some of the big bottles they are producing, including one aged in bourbon barrels.
Oliver, the brewery’s brewmaster and an author expertly walked me through four bottles including the Local 1 and Local 2.
We discussed food pairings, proper beer aging, history of brewing in Brooklyn and the delicious Black Ops, an Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels for four months. Oliver also popped a bottle of the Sorachi Ace during the segment.
Enjoy and happy drinking!
